I sign up for the freecycle yahoo posting in our area. I received some really nice furniture this way. Also in Florida, what people don't want they put on the curb, and you are free to take it. We look at the piece to see if it is good or worth redoing.

I love freecycle. I have given some items away and have gotten an exercise bike, office chair, moving boxes, a headboard, mattress topper, quilt, drapes, and more! Craigslist also has free items.
is it free cycle . com that will help me with free furniture? I need furniture bad.
I signed up for freecycle and literally got tons of emails. I would suggest if you sign up, use a separate email address from the one you use for friends and newsletters, like Thrifty Fun, etc. My mind isn't what it used to be and I forgot about which email I had used. Before I got back to check it, I had 25,000 - no joke - emails in about a year.

I'm on here looking for me and my kids a bed and some clothes
I also recycle as often as I can. I will find on side of road and even found real bargains at estate sales that can be re made. I at this time have found 6 cribs on roadside and taking apart to remold into other useful items
