If it's real Sterling Silver you can restore it.
A little bit of toothpaste and rub. Then wash off, dry completely & use a polishing cloth.
Here are some other options you could try out: www.finishing.com/
Use Guardsman silver polish.
Silver polish works to fix bleach to remove the stains.
Post back if you tried toothpaste and if it worked. Silver polish is expensive and I am always looking for solutions with things I already have at home!
Thanks!! Blessings!
I ruined my silver ring this 4th of July weekend, i just bought 3wks ago, cleaning lawn tables with soapy bleach water and wanted to cry. Did the intenet search like everyone else, saw on a different site to use toothpaste. IT WORKS, IT WORKS. I did it 20 min ago. I used what I have to brush my teeth daily. I have the mint paste gel whitening with baking soda and peroxide by Colgate. I rubbed vigorously with just my fingers and in less then 5 min the tarnish/black stared coming off. I took a 2 square piece of toilet tissue and rubbed off the toothpaste and it was shiny and new again. I did it a 2nd time for good measure, not as long though. Rinsed it off with a dab of soap & warm water NO BLEACH, lol. It's sparkling again.
Yes it did work use Tooth paste and and old tooth brush and scrub
The tooth paste DOES work! I was so disgusted when I looked down and saw my ring was tarnished. I just tried the tooth paste and it is silver again! Thank you so much!
It works! Thanks for the info!
Woo Hoo!!! Thanks for posting back!
Yay!! So glad you got it fixed!! Thanks for posting!
Oh my gosh! Thank you all SOOO much for the toothpaste trick! I forgot to take my silver rings off before cleaning with bleach and was devastated to see them after.
It definitely works , I was going to throw my ring out and I said I will give it a try . Turned out just like new again . Thank you
I put toothpaste on my ring and scrubbed with my fingers and the bleach stains came off in seconds!!!
This happened to my Rings after using bleach. I used the toothpaste method with a Electric brush. It really brought back the shine. Thank goodness I found this site. Thank you.
No, the toothpaste did not work on my heavy silver bracelets.... BUT I then remembered what the silversmith/designer said to do.....
Toothpaste worked on my sterling silver wedding ring that I thought I ruined when I got bleach on it!!!
Have just cleaned my sliver rings with toothpaste and it has worked.
Feared the worst but the Colgate toothpaste worked a treat and my bracelet is sparkling again. Cant thank you enough for this post.
I was amazed at how effective toothpaste was after my silver fork had been placed, by mistake, in bleach. Took a bit of effort but was sucessful, just finished it off with silver polish.
Toothpaste worked for me!
tooth paste works a dream!!! my ring is only sliver plated and it was completely ruined by bleach. i did the toothpaste hack and its back to normal.

It worked so well
Thought I Ruined my sentimental sterling silver and rose gold band w bleach made a paste with baking soda and water and rubbed with a cloth. Took a bit of elbow grease, but it is shining. Thank goodness. I was so hurt that I thought I ruined it.
