Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts The girlie side of me absolutely adores ribbons and bows. I think they are cute in every way, shape, and form. When I see bowtie pasta, that side of me totally perks up. I think they're so cute, I even dare to wear them! Here is how to make a cute silver necklace from a piece of farfalle pasta.
Total Time: 40 minutes
Yield: 1 necklace
Supplies:
- 1 piece of farfalle pasta
- 1 handheld drill with small reamer drill bit
- silver spray paint (add a primer if it's not 2-in-1)
- 18 in chain
- 3 jump rings
- needle nose pliers
- 1 lobster claw clasp
Steps:
- Drill a small hole on both sides of the pasta.
- Spray paint the pasta silver. If it doesn't have a built in primer, prime the pasta first, then paint. Allow to dry.
- Fold the chain in half to find the midpoint, then divide into 2 using the pliers.
- Attach a jump ring to one end of one length of chain.
- Loop the jump ring through the hole on the pasta.
- Repeat on the other side with the other piece of chain.
- To attach the lobster clasp, shove one side of the head of the pliers into the last hoop on a piece of chain. Hook on the clasp, then close the chain hoop back up.
- Add a jump ring to the end of the other chain.
- Throw it around your neck and clasp on!
