Simple Paper Easter Egg Match - completed game In a pre-k classroom, children sometimes need alone time to decompress. There's usually at least two areas where this is feasible: the quiet center and computer center. The former is filled with stuffed animals, soft pillows, squishy toys, and one-person games. Holidays are the perfect time to introduce new activities to this center, like this Easter egg match. It's very easy to make and perfect for preschool and pre-k classes, in that it allows students to practice recognizing similarities and differences.

Supplies:

laminator with 2 sheets
scissors
6 hard 1/2 inch Velcro pieces
6 soft 1/2 inch Velcro pieces
2 pieces white card stock
Microsoft word
Google images
color printer

Steps:

Use Google images to find six different clip art Easter egg patterns. In a Microsoft Word document, place 3 eggs in a column on the left side. Leave a few inches in between and place 3 more eggs in another column. Add a title, print it out, and laminate. Now add a piece of Velcro to the right of each egg, about an inch or so away.

Now place the same six eggs in another document and print them out. Cut out the eggs, laminate them, and cut them out again. Place a piece of soft Velcro on the back of each egg.

Match the eggs! Kids can add and remove the eggs over and over because of the Velcro. When the game becomes too easy, you can make a larger board with more eggs. Having eggs that are more similar would also be a challenge!
