Singer Sewing Machine Not Catching Bobbin Thread?

I bought this Singer 413 recently. It was sewing just fine then the needle broke. I replaced it with an identical needle, but now I can't get the bobbin thread to come up through the plate.

If you don't have the manual, there is a link here:www.manualslib.com/.../Singer-Stylist-413.html

It is possible either the needle isn't seated correctly or the bobbin case isn't seated correctly (that is ALWAYS my issue with my Kenmore). If you have re-seated both of those, it can't hurt to call Singer Customer Service and ask for an opinion:

I always have good luck calling customer service numbers!

Hope this helps!

Make sure there is no thread or fabric stuck in the bobbin area. You will have to remove the needle plate to do this.
