My Singer sewing machine continues to run even when I take my foot off the driver. What can I do to fix it ?

You have two choices in this. You can take the foot pedal to a repair shop and have them look at it and repair it. There is an issue with the pedal and when you remove your foot the pedal is not sprining back up to stop the connection. The second choice is to buy a new one.
There is a wiring problem either to the foot pedal or with the pedal itself. You may have to have it serviced.
Do a quick check to see if you have a pin or some heavy lint stuck in the petal. I had this happen before with my Kenmore. Once I cleaned out the safety pin, it worked fine.
