Hi, I got a Singer 6212c SM with tension unit, like the one shown in your picture. I am having upper tension problems and seems I misassembled the tension unit. I used to see just 2 discs in my featherweight machine but this model has 3 discs, 1 plain plus 2 curved as in most Singer machines. I think the plain disc goes in between, in contact with curved sides of the other 2 discs, Am I right or there is a different configuration? Thanks in advance!

I think you have Tension Assembly For Singer 242 247 252 360 400 403 404 7105 5BB5184.
You're right, the flat disc should be between the two curved discs. See here how they are located and what the Tension Assembly looks like when assembled: cicig.co/
The curved parts of the two discs must be on the outside www.aliexpress.com/
I'm not familiar with this machine so I can only offer suggestions.
Do you have a manual? if not, here is a link to download a copy as it should have instructions on dealing with the tension discs.
There are several YouTube videos but I did not see one dealing with the tension on this machine.
It is always a good idea to join one or more of the sewing machine forums when dealing with a 'new' machine as they always have members who are familiar with different types of machines. They seem to welcome questions and usually answer quickly.
Here are some of the favored sites:

Thanks for your kind answer, suggestions and the link to the user manual, unfortunately only indicates how to set upper tension but not how to assembly 3 metal discs.
On Youtube found a couple of videos where flat disc goes between convex ones, but this setting did not worked for me; makes sense when using a double needle/stitches but in my case it worked better placing the flat disc at the end and convex ones after, maybe the spring needs to be replaced too...
I definitively will check in forums suggested, thanks a lot.
Fortunately after all that cleaning and adjusting my 6212c machine is sewing again :)
Thanks again for your support, very appreciated!
(BTW my machine is very similar to Singer 4525 model)
As long as it is working: Smile and enjoy!
