Skeleton keys hanging from a plaque. I needed some keys to hang on this cute wall hanging. It was hard to find the size I needed without spending a lot of money. I decided to make some from wood and paint with metallic paint to make them look like a real key.

Total Time: 1 1/2 hours

Supplies:

thin wood
scroll saw
template
paint and paint brush
spray varnish

Steps:

Find a key template, print, and cut out. Glue to thin piece of wood.

Skeleton key shapes taped to a piece of wood.

Using a scroll saw, cut the keys out of the wood.

Drilling out the center of the key shape.

Using a jigsaw to cut out the skeleton key shapes.

Paint with metallic paint. Let dry. Spray varnish and let dry.

Painting the key shapes in metallic colors.
