He's a mutt, but we do know for sure that he has Boxer in him.

How and when did you get your pet?
I've had my boy for as long as I can remember. We've had him for so long that I actually can't remember how many years exactly it's been. But I do remember that my brother rescued Jimmy from a veterinary office that he used to work. Suspected to be a possible truck/travel dog who may have gotten away from his previous owner on accident, Slim was found wandering near the vet by himself. He was so skinny that they thought the name "Slim-Jim" would be appropriate. And though he's at a healthy weight now, we never felt the need to change his name - it's too perfect! That name was one of the many things that made us fall in love with our now-old boy, and we wouldn't trade him for the world.

What does your pet like to do for fun?
Slim-Jim loves to cuddle up on the couch and watch movies. He can't do so quite as easily now due to his eye sight slowly deteriorating, but the noises still continue to intrigue him. I've never seen a dog watch movies quite like he does. His ears perk with every sound and I've even seen him get riled up or seem to become quite sad in parts of the movie where the music or scenery seems to take on either strong emotion. These movies tend to also help calm Slim during his episodes of PTSD during a thunderstorm. I can never get him to calm down enough or even catch a wink of sleep unless I sit next to him and play music or play a movie for however long the storm goes on.

Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
He loves tennis balls, treats, and appreciates all the love anyone gives him. Jim is my best buddy - he's been through a lot, but still holds strong, and I admire him greatly for that.
