Silver Post Medal for All Time! 293 Posts
I was going away for the weekend and wanted a small purse. I wanted it just big enough to hold a small wallet, phone, powder, and lipstick. I also wanted to use thick yarn and a big hook so that I could finish it quickly. This is what I came up with. It is easy and you'll be done in no time. Have fun!
Total Time: About 4 hours
Supplies:
- "K" crochet hook
- chunky #6 yarn
- scissors
- embroidery needle for weaving in ends
- button
Steps:
- Ch 18.

- Sc in 2nd ch from hk and each ch until end. Work 3 sc in last ch. Rotate your work and work 1 sc in each ch on opposite side, making 2 sc in your last stitch. *Your last stitch will be where your very first sc was, for a total of 3 sc in this space*

- Ch 2, turn. 1 hdc in same space as ch, *1 hdc in next, 2 hdc in next,* Repeat steps between * till end.

- Strap; Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hk and each till end. (4 sc)

- You will center your straps about 1" down on each side and sew to your bag.

- Sew a large button to the front of your purse.

- Attach your yarn with a slip st to the bottom of your flap and ch the desired length. Re-attach in the same spot with a slip st and finish off. How many you ch simply depends on the size of your button. You want your loop big enough to fit around your button, but snug enough to not slip off easily.
