My husband was drawing disability. He adopted my son and he also got a check. The checks came with my husband's name on one of them an the other one had my name and my son's name on it. My husband passed and now it's SSDB that he gets. We still get the checks, the same one with me being payee and the other one with just my name on it? I was told that when my son turns 16 I will lose my check. Why? Why am I getting it in two checks instead of one? Will he get any of the check that they say we will lose?
