Slide a ring pull from a soda can over a coat hanger. Immediately, you now have double the wardrobe space!

I just tried this and it worked excellent. Thank you Monique, I hope you win the contest for this great tip.
For larger hangers use the poptops from soup cans (such as Progresso). They have larger holes than soda can poptops!
If you use fat hangers use curtain rod rings,or shower curtain rings. I get them at tag sales and they are inexpensive.
Best tip I've read in a long time. Thanks for sharing.
I initially liked your idea but it didn't work for me because I use the fat heavy duty plastic type of hangers and couldn't get the hooks to fit through the holes of the soda can pull ring :-(
Excellent, a great idea Will give it a try, plus I am thirsty : )
This sounds like a great idea. I am getting ready to move to a very small apartment with limited closet space. Thank goodness I am not a clothes horse but this will make it easier for me to save space.
I thought this was such a simple idea, and kick myself for not thinking of it before. It is great. Someone posted she used the plastic hangers, which I do too.
Truly a great idea, and they're so sturdy! I've been using plastic chain from the hardware store, fairly inexpensive, and fabrics don't get snagged on rough edges. Love love love space-saving ideas!
Why does it double the space?????
You use the soda tabs to allow a second hanger to be added. This gives you two hangers in the place of one, allowing you to hang up twice as many items.
