Some Rooms Without Power After Storm?

A powerful flash thunderstorm, involving lightning, hit my area. The electricity was knocked out and restored hours later to my building. However, not everything was restored in my home. The A/C and stove work, but all other rooms have no power. The main light switch will not stay in "on" position now. All other switches are fine. Anyone have a good theory as to why?
