From the instructions, I think the cd means chain.
A Spanish friend gave me the following information:
pd = treble crochet
cd = chain (usually)
pb = single crochet
You can also Google Spanish to English translation and get several sites.
actually pd is punto doble which means to put 2 single crochets in one stitch. this is to increase the round your working in. and cd is you chain one and skip a stitch
