Silver Post Medal for All Time! 293 Posts This is an easy, fat free and refreshing fruit salad. My kids gobbled it up just as quickly as the kind I usually make with whipped cream. Except this time, everything was extremely good for them. The sauce is fat free yogurt with raw cane sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, chia seeds and mint. Makes eating healthier not so bad. :)
Total Time: About 30 minutes
Yield: About 8 side dish servings
Source: Modified from a recipe in the book;"Fix It and Enjoy It".
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup raw cane sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3 bananas, sliced
- 2 apples, any kind, peeled and cubed
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup grapes, halved
- chia seeds
- mint leaves
Steps:
- In a large bowl, toss your sliced fruit with lemon juice. This will give it a fresh taste as well as prevent browning.
- In another bowl, combine your yogurt, sugar and spices.
- Place your fruit into a dish, top with your sauce and sprinkle chia seeds on top. Add a nice mint leaf, meant to be eaten as well, and enjoy!
