Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 4-6 people (as side dish)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb bean sprouts
- 1 stem scallions
- 2-3 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tsp gochugaru
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 1/2 tsp fish sauce
- dash black pepper
Steps:
- Wash bean sprouts.
- Fill large pot about half way or until level with bean sprouts with a dash of salt and allow to boil for 3-4 minutes over high heat. Cover the lid.
- Drain bean sprout and dunk bean sprouts into cold icy water. Drain again.
- For the seasoning - you will need to chop scallions and mince garlic cloves. Combine all ingredients into a bowl; scallions, garlic, gochugaru, sesame seeds, sesame oil, fish sauce, and dash of black pepper. Mix.
- Once mixed, toss well with your bean sprouts. Adjust seasoning to your liking if needed.
- Optional: If you have little ones, you can substitute the gochugaru for salt, minus minced garlic and it won't be spicy. Same concept, toss well.

I love bean sprouts. I do a similar one to this but serve it hot, with an egg scrambled into it :) Yummy.

The only time I've had hot bean sprouts is in my pho or a vietnamese crepe. I'll have to try it sometime your way. :)
