I have a Brother LS-1217. I have been experiencing some difficulty sewing so I started trouble shooting and messing with the bobbin tension and such, when I found 2 springs on the left side of the bobbin winder. The larger one is attached and the smaller one is attached at the top but not at the bottom. Could this be why I'm having trouble. If so where does this little spring attach to at the bottom?

Take your Brother machine to the nearest repair tech - that spring does go somewhere but without seeing it in person it's hard to say for sure where. Any sewing centre with advertised repair facilities will have your machine up and running again for you in short order. No idea of the cost, sorry, but expect it to cost you around $25 (£40 in the UK) for the tech to look and fix.
Splash out a bit more for a complete servicing to be sure nothing else is wrong and the machine is properly cleaned, oiled, and given a good check over.
Did you figure out where it goes? I am having the same issue. Thanks.
I have the same problem. Any luck?
So where did a little spring go to can you show me on your sewing machine because I dont have the extra funds to take it to somebody to repair
Hello - I had the same problem, just had it fixed - I've attached photos as its hard to explain where the springs go...
Hi.. I could not see any other attachment. Do u mind to forward me the photos? Having e same loose spring.
Can you forward to me also. The 2nd spring has been hanging lose and today when cleaning the machine, it popped off complety.
Many, many thanks
I had this problem too. The picture might not appear clear enough.
pull the hanging end of the spring gently towards the front and hook it back to front where you see an upside down "2".
Jenny C, Im having the same problem and I cant understand how to attach the spring. Can you please message me a picture?
