Easy quilt block pattern with a square inside.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- fabric
- sewing machine
- thread
- scissors
- pins
- ruler
- pencil
Steps:
- Using two coordinating fabrics, cut two square from fabric, any size you want for your quilt block. The ones in this project use a 9 inch square. Pin the two pieces of fabric right sides together. Sew around the entire square with a 1/4 inch seam.
- Take a ruler and a pencil and draw a diagonal line from one corner to the other from the two upper corners to the two lower corners.
- Using a pair of scissors, pull one side of the fabric up so that you are cutting only one layer of the fabric. Cut along the diagonal.
- Fold back to reveal the "hidden center square." Press. You can continue this simple process to make several coordinating squares for a quilt or have them all match.
