I guess our homemade hummingbird nectar is so good, this squirrel wanted some for dessert. It was so funny to watch him latched on, swinging around like it was a tire swing!

To make your own nectar, bring 4 cups of water and 1 cup of fine sugar to a boil in a pot. Make sure sugar fully dissolves, remove from heat, cool, add a few drops or red food colouring.

I've read that you should never use food coloring in the nectar.
