I think I have watched a program on DIY network, but I think they were painting the floor. You might check out their website to see if you can find some info on staining, (diynetwork.com.). If not, maybe it was hgtv.com.

Actually, it is an inexpensive way of making your concrete floors look really neat. There are many options. You can paint, stain, etc. There is tons of information out there.

We are about to stain the living room floor at our lake house. For a couple of months we have experimented with paint and stain on our garage floor. Here is what we have learned:
Stain looks better than paint. You can layer colors for a more custom appearance. Be sure to have a very clean floor. All dirt, glue, oil, etc. will affect the finished look. You never know how the finished floor will turn out until all the steps have been completed. Do not let the intermediate appearance scare you. It can look ugly during the process. Buy stain, or paint, made specifically for concrete. Allow a lot of time, it is a multi-step process that requires drying and curing time.
