How do you stain a concrete floor?
By Cindy Middleton from Germantown, TN
There are several products available to stain concrete floors. Some are one part and others are two part systems. They have these products at Home Depot and Lowes. I would suggest you read the labels on how to do this and then decide if you want to tackle this project. The directions have to be followed for a good job. There may be other and easier ways to stain a concrete floor, but you want something that will last and look good for a long time with out having to redo the staining every few years.

Then you use special acids to stain them.

What acid stains don't offer is a broad color selection. You'll mostly find them in a limited array of subtle earth tones, such as tans, browns, terra cottas, and soft blue-greens. But newer products on the market such as water-based penetrating stains and water-and solvent-based concrete dyes are greatly expanding the artist's palette with colors ranging from soft pastels to vivid reds, oranges, yellows, and purples.
