Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts These chips are fun for patriotic parties on Independence Day, but also great for birthday parties. They're easy to bake up in the oven with just a few ingredients. No frying necessary!
The quantity of chips you get from this recipe also depends on the size of your star-shaped cookie cutter. I got 3 chips from each 5-inch tortilla round. I used the leftover pieces as toasted toppings on a Mexican salad. Yum!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 60 chips
Ingredients:
- 20 5 inch tortillas, corn or flour
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp lime zest
- taco seasoning
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 3 baking sheets. Place a tortilla on your cutting board and use the cookie cutter to make star shapes.
- If your cookie cutter is sharp enough, you can do a few tortillas at a time.
- Mix together the oil with the lime juice and lime zest.
- Place the star shaped tortillas on the baking sheet. Brush with the lime oil mix.
- Sprinkle stars with taco seasoning. Bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes, turn, then bake for another 5 minutes.
- Serve with your favourite dips!

I have never tried lime and I love the flavor so I guess you have furnished me with another "keeper" and I don't think I will wait for another holiday.
Thanks,
Betty
