How can I get stuff to start a recycling business? I am looking for all kinds of recyclables including clothes, old appliances, air conditioners, fans, as well as, vacuum and carpet cleaners. I would also like to include aluminum cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags, paper, cardboard, scrap metal, tires, heaters, wood stoves, building materials (windows, toilets, sinks, flooring, etc.), bikes, tools, garden tools including lawn mowers, and yard decorations such as fountains and bird baths. Finally, I am also interested in VHS tapes, DVDs, books, TVs, DVD players, game systems, games, and computers. Thank you for any ideas.

It will help if you haul or have a large SUV/Truck. If you do, you can post ads on Craigslist, Facebook that you're willing to recycle and haul for free and that will start up your small business.
On Facebook one good thing is to start a new group. You can start a group for your business and tell people in your area you are recycling. However, you'll need a large truck to do this one with. You can say you accept drop offs, but most people want pickups from their homes.
Also advertise in your local stores, bulletin boards, churches, schools and anywhere you can post your business for picking up recycle affairs from.
I would drive around town the night before garbage day to get things to sell. You can also keep an eye out for garage sales. People sometimes opt to put items that didnt sell on the curb rather than take it back into the house.
