Does anyone have a tip on how to remove a horrible smell from the microwave and kitchen? My daughter tried to cook noodles in a plastic bowl and forgot to add water. The microwave is stained and smelly. Please help.

Chop a lemon and put in some water in a microwaveable dish. Nuke on high for about 3 minutes, let it stand overnight and repeat in the morning (make sure you still have water). Then wipe clean.

Place a small bowl of water add about 2 Tablespoons of baking soda set microwave for 3 minutes. After its done let sit for about 5 minutes, then clean up with towel. It cleans your microwave and takes stench out.

If all else fails, put some fresh coffee grounds (not used grounds) in a shallow container (jar lid is good) and let sit in there when you are not using it. They will absorb the odor and leave the microwave smelling like coffee (A good smell).

My mother always used celery. You can wipe your hands on a small chunk for smelly onion, fish, etc. Or you can put it in water and boil to freshen the air from cooking smells. If you cook cabbage or brussels sprouts, greens that linger, just put the celery stalk in the water with it. You can also do this if cooking crab, lobster, fish or other steamed or boiled seafood or fresh water fish. Use the leaves, also.
This will help stop the odor before it is a problem. If it already exists clean the kitchen area and proceed with the simmering celery on the stove or in the microwave. Eat it. Eat it raw to remove food after taste and to freshen breath. Like after onions or garlic or good stinky cheeses at parties and such when you cannot get away to brush and gargle.
