Sterling Silver Stamp Question

A silver pendant with red stones.I have a pendant with the stamps V8 925, and also an etched PL. The pendant appears to be silver and I was told it is sterling, to which I assume the 925 refers. I cannot find any information about the V8 stamp or the PL etch. Any information would be appreciated. There is Cyrillic writing on the pendant.

Sterling silver contains only 92.5% silver. If the balance is platinum, you'll see this "PL". (It also can indicate "plated" but that should be easy to test.) I'm unsure about the V8 but it might indicate a maker, designer, or some other information relative to Poland, as I believe the inscription to be Polish Cyrillic.

Your pendant has the word "love" written in two languages: English and Russian. This word in Russian, unlike many other Russian words, was spelled the same way both in the 19th century and after the spelling reform of 1917-1918 (in modern spelling too). en.wikipedia.org/.../Reforms_of_Russian_orthography

You write about the V8 mark, but it looks more like 84, which means 84 zolotnik Russian silver. Hallmark 84 began to be used from the middle of the 18th century until 1917 vivien-shop.ru/.../klejmo-na-serebre-sssr.html The alloy contains 87.5% pure silver and 12.5% copper or other metals. Items with 84 zolotnik Russian silver are sufficiently durable, so they are well suited for daily use. But these items are prone to darkening. Your pendant does not look darkened. Look, for example, at a bracelet with 84: in.pinterest.com/.../
Also, in addition to the 84, the items should have had a town mark or the Kokoshnik hallmark www.925-1000.com/Frussia.html Your pendant does not have such marks, but only the PL mark - Assay master hallmark.

I found Charka with PL, with kokoshnik and 84 marks by Jakov Ljapunov, St Petersburg 1898 www.lot-art.com/.../3234-charka_conique-10.12.19-piguet.
I found Samovar with P.L, Assay master Jakov Ljapunov, St Petersburg 1896-1903. But there is a dot after P. Your pendant has PL mark without a dot.

84 zolotnik Russian silver has the equivalent millesimal fineness of 875. And your pendant has a 925 hallmark - sterling silver.

I think that someone tried to pass off this pendant as an antique and put hallmarks 84 and PL. But later, possibly when imported into another country, the pendant was examined and marked with 925 corresponding to its characteristics. Therefore, I think that this is not an antique pendant and it is pointless to try to find out who made your pendant.

925 means it is sterling silver. PL may be the manufacturer

It looks like your pendant was being sold on ebay as "1990's Vintage Solid Sterling Silver / 925 Love" i.ebayimg.com/.../s-l500.jpg

Piotr Latkowski 1899-1920 used the PL hallmark archiwum.allegro.pl/.../lyzeczka-srebro-proba-3-warszawa... But it seems to me that his L has a dash.
That second word on the pendant is written in Russian.
