Store Excess Plastic Bags for Food Garbage

I keep one or two used bags on hand to put food garbage in that I want to throw away. I've used grocery bags for used cat litter as well. Raw meat wrappers tend to have a foul odor when thrown in the garbage. I put them in one of these bags and tie a knot in the end of the bag. Then I throw them into my kitchen garbage. Lately, I've been putting that bag into the freezer until my garbage day arrives.

Please don't overlook the fact that produce bags or bread bags can be recycled at your grocery store. My store also takes air pillows (from packing of shipping items); dry cleaning bags; wrapping from napkins, paper towels, bath tissue, and diapers; newspaper bags; and case wrap from bottled water. My municipality has zero garbage as its goal. Compost and recycle whenever possible.

Good luck always!
