How can I keep mushrooms longer?

Wrap mushrooms in paper towel and keep in refrigerator and lasts for few days.
Wipe and slice mushroom,add a teaspoon vinegar in some boiling water and blanch the mushroom,drain and store in an airtight container and freeze.
I take them out of the grocery store container, if they're in one, and just pop them into a brown paper bag, roll the top down, and stash them in the fridge. They'll last a week or more this way.
I'm going to put my mushrooms in a brown paper bag I'm just trying to find out do you put any slits or any holes in the bag?
