We have all tried several different ways to deal with drippy toothbrushes in the bathroom. Those old icky containers with holes in the top, where the water drips down and forms a scum. Then the ones in the medicine cabinet that cause rust on the metal. Well listen and learn from an old lady who has done them all.
Simply take a cheap, clean facecloth like the ones that come bundled from Wally World or one of those stores that sell them in the bundle. I like the white ones. Fold it in half and lay your toothbrush on one side. Fold the other half over it. Leave it by the sink or anywhere you prefer. Toss the facecloth into the laundry occasionally and walla, a nice clean place to keep your current usable toothbrush.

I keep the toothbrushes under the sink in an old coffee mug.
It happens that the mug was a favorite and when the handle broke off I was loathe to throw it out so I glued the handle back on and repurposed the mug. It's not trustworthy enough for drinking from but at least I can still use it for something and I like that.
