Sub-irrigated Planter From Recycled Materials

I am currently growing spinach, mustard, arugula and 2 types of lettuce. It's working great. I water very infrequently. I recycled 18 containers thus far!

Great idea but there seems to be aluminum foil in the back round is that for a reason?

Thanks for your feedback! All of my lighting is artificial. I use the aluminum foil to reflect the side lighting back towards the plants to minimize loss of light.

It is cheap & highly reflective.
