I bought Bran Flakes not buds. Can I substitute bran flakes for Bran Buds and what is the measurement difference?

I have done this for muffins and they came out fine Use the same amount.
If your recipe specifically calls for the brand buds, I would NOT substitute the cereal as it could change the texture because the cereal has other ingredients to it and can dry out a recipe.
There are plenty of recipes that call for the cereal.
I have made this muffin recipe:

I like it with double the cinnamon and NO raisins, but that is just me. NOT a raisin fan.
Happy baking!

I agree with Pghgirl and would not substitute as just one small difference can make a big difference in baked goods.
Try one of the many recipes using Bran Flakes so you can follow the recipe and enjoy your results.
