I have a Sunbeam electric blanket, exceptional care; it is only a year old. There is no way any damage occurred to it. It has never been laundered by anyone, nor put in the clothes dryer. I am exceptionally careful about the power cord. I live alone and I know to care for things.
Then the dreaded (knowledge after-the-fact) FF code appeared. I've tried to reset it per knowledgeable internet. I've already replaced it (abt $30) after Sunbeam suggested I send it to them. Shipping would be about half+/- that. What is my best option? Should I just throw it away ?
Thnx for concurring with my opinion/instinct or other.

According to new USPS shipping rates (effective 6/23/19) the shipping may cost you $40-$50.
You say that you have already tried to reset it and probably tested it according to the Sunbeam web site so if it is not getting hot there is probably nothing you can do to fix it.
You may be able to get help from a local Sears Service Center as they sell Sunbeam and it is possible they can fix it with no shipping charge.
Try Google Sears Service Center with your zip code and maybe call or take your blanket in for information before you make a decision on paying for repairs or replacing.
Does not sound like they have a very good warranty if it is only a year old.

thnx for the link.
i did call-speak with them
Did anyone offer any help or are you still seeking?
I would write to the company and ask for a refund. I did this recently with a ring I purchased online. The stone came out and I sent it back at my expense. I got a new ring.
