I use the Square Foot Gardening method, and have 3 gardens. I planted these miniature sugar pumpkins to the left of my first garden. I waited and waited, and nothing came up. I just assumed they didn't take. I had squash and cucumbers in the second garden, and when the vines started coming up, I couldn't tell the difference between them. Two weeks ago, I started seeing small yellow fruit. I was confused as to what they were. As they got bigger it was apparent that the pumpkin vines migrated to the second garden and seem pretty happy. I'm getting lots of them and am looking forward to baking and cooking them all fall.

Gardening surprises are always interesting and fun! I had volunteer peppers last year and this year I had volunteer tomatoes! Both produced a few very nice fruits that I wasn't expecting!
