My parents have a list of shops in their area that offer senior discounts. Some are valid every day, some are one day a week, some are one day a month. The discounts can vary from 10 to 25 percent off, and most don't require you to sign up for a free membership. Just show your ID to prove your age. These discounts are for people 55 to 60 and up, but some allow 50 and up if you're an AARP member. It's best to call or check online to confirm what day(s) your local store participates, but these are typically nationwide:
Food: Applebee's, Arby's, Ben & Jerry's, Boston Market, Bubba Gump, Burger King, Carrows, Chick-fil-A, Chili's, CiCi's Pizza, Denny's, El Pollo Loco, Golden Corral, IHOP, Jack in the Box, Krispy Kreme, McCormick & Schmick's, McDonald's, The Old Spaghetti Factory, Sizzler, Sweet Tomatoes, Uno's Pizzeria, Wendy's

Clothing/Retail: AT&T, Banana Republic, Dress Barn, Goodwill, Kohl's, Lens Crafters, Michael's, Ross, Stein Mart, Walgreens
Travel: American Airlines, Amtrak, Avis, British Airways, Budget Rentals Cars, Carnival Cruise, Days Inn, Greyhound, Hilton, Marriott, Motel 6, Southwest Airlines, Royal Caribbean, United Airlines
Entertainment: AMC Theaters, Cinemark, SeaWorld, US National Parks

Hi there! Most of them are automatic when you show your ID, just make sure you contact your local branch or check online to find out what days they offer the discounts in your town. For instance, Walgreens does a rather nice 20 percent off everything that's not a clearance item on the first Tuesday of every month, nationwide.

Ross Dress for Less does EVERY Tuesday at a 10 percent discount, just show your ID.
They will all vary, really, so check with the one you go to. :)

Some of the McDonalds where I live dont have discounts anymore. Neither does KFC. Use to but not anymore.
I live in Beverly, Mass. & there is a nearby T.J.Maxx & they DO NOT offer any discount.
