When taking a cab, to cut expenses, you might consider sharing a cab with another person. Another thought, is make sure the cabbie resets the meter to zero, before he starts for your destination.
I think you are wrong here, If two people share a cab and both get out at same place, they can split the cost. But if two people start out together, person one gets out at point A with a fare of $3 (for example) then 'you' continue on to point B, the driver should not put meter at zero unless the two of you split the first fare. Otherwise, you are getting that portion of ride for free. Also why should the driver be gyped of his full amt of money.

I live in London, guys. Usually I book a cab with BookRide Minicabs at an affordable price but they cover only London. I need to travel out of London and can't find the affordable taxi service.
Can anyone please help me out? Any suggestions?have you tried a comparison site online for minicabs if you don't want to use a black cab..... there are loads online :)
London - how nice.
This was fun searching out London.
Sorry but all I can offer is - have you checked on Uber?
It seems that it may be cheaper if traveling outside of London but it looks like the prices change according to the time of day so that is something that would have to be checked.
This business link says you should have an Uber app and check it before booking as they do sometimes charge a 'surge charge' and that could be expensive (you probably know about that?)
This link also recommends using an app named 'Gett' for checking all prices of taxis.
Hope someone can offer more.
A lot of people now use Uber when they are traveling around different cities and even states. It appears that Uber is one of the cheaper ways to travel and especially if you are going any distance at all. If you can't find an affordable way to travel it might be a good idea to take the train to your destination and have an Uber waiting for you when you arrive.
