I buy several loaves of bread at a time and freeze them. When I take them out to thaw, I put a paper towel inside. This will absorb any moisture and avoid freezer burn texture or taste.

What a wonderful idea, thank you for sharing it with all of us out here! Helping seniors by giving us this idea is simply wonderful, thank you!
Thank you. I don't like using paper towels much, but one towel to save an entire loaf of bread is worth it. I'm going to see if I can reuse the towel with the same results with subsequent loaves.
i do this thanks to a tip on here-mightve been yours?,it really works-i just put a paper towel over the loaf before i freeze it and leave it in while it defrosts-even the cheapest wholemeal bread is still lovely and soft,after-very pleased to get this tip-thankyou!,pam xx
