I have a Brother SE425 embroidery machine. The thread cutter won't work while the feed dogs are down. The thread is getting caught while the machine is trying to cut.
try removing the bobbin, cleaning that whole entire interior of dust or thread bits, put it back and try again
You might have a small piece of fabric jamming it. Clean it out well.
