I am now 54 so my nails are not as bright as they were when I was younger. After many years of wearing nail varnish and false nails, they have yellowed a bit. I came up with a little idea when I bought a new illuminator powder. (A highlighter compact)
I smudged my finger in the powder then dabbed it onto my nails. I didn't mind if I got it on the sides of my fingers as it would wash off later. Once I had covered each nail, I got my bottle of clear nail varnish and put a coat on. I then applied another coat on top after the first had dried. Then I washed my fingers to remove any left-over powder.
Now I have lovely bright nails which covers the slightly stained fingernails underneath. No one is any the wiser!
Another good thing about this technique is that I could change up the colours by using eyeshadows and then using the clear varnish as before. You could make your nails with two or three shades if you are a little more adventurous!
