We have loads of these very small flying insects coming into the house through the windows. Lots outside as well. They are only 1-2mm long thin and flat. Any ideas what they are and how to be rid of them?

This insect looks like a Termitidae, this insect is in the Termite family. This termite has wings and can fly. en.wikipedia.org/
These look like stoneflies. You will get a lot of these flies this time of year. What you need to do is set out some fly traps to trap them and keep them out of your home. From the image, I am also considering gants because they look like the fungus gant too.
U could possibly set up insect traps and hope that kills them
