I make several lists long before my actual food shopping week. First, what items I can get at the dollar store? I am always amazed at how many name brand foods are sold at the Dollar store.
Then, I go through all the sale flyers for the week I am shopping, especially for the produce and meat prices even if it means going to two different supermarkets. I don't drive, this means asking someone with a kind heart to help me save a great deal of money. I am on a fixed low-income. This is serious shopping to me.
I cannot get out to the big Club stores and I am only shopping for one. The need for bulk shopping is truly not a great demand, though it could help.
I do clip coupons, every little bit counts. I make everything from scratch, which eliminates buying a lot of canned, boxed and prepared foods. I also buy staple items in bulk. I love to cook and bake a lot. I do a lot of cooking for charities. The savings I get allows me to do this.
I hope this helps anyone tring to shop in this world of outrageous prices. "Price Beware"
