I've had my dentures for 5 years and the top does not fit any more. They just rock back and forth. They cause injury when I wear them, but nobody will give me a loan to replace them and insurance will not cover them for another 5 years. What to do?

They have creams that will hold them in place, until you can work something out!
I've been using fixadent but I have to but it on 2 sometimes 3 times a day, and besides that they hurt like hell, and there getting worse every day, all I've been eating is soft food because of it.
See if there is a dental school near you. Costs are much less.
Talk to your dentist about making adjustments. There are things the dentist can do that may help. Post back with an update! Prayers!
In this case you might need to get some denture glue or adhesive to keep them in place and stop the harm they are doing to your mouth. I know this was not the answer you were looking for, but the size and shape of your gums has changed over the past 5 years and they no longer fit like they use to.
