This will help the vertically challenged person, such as I, to utilize those top shelves while being able to reach things. I arrange my cereal and cracker boxes like books on a shelf and I can reach the front edge and get them down. This also helps with those boxes which are too tall to stand upright on the shelf.

Try one of those arm extensions with a pistol grip handle. The pincers have textured rubber so grab almost everything. The pincers spread about 4". So handy. My lightweight mixing bowls have a lip so I use the barbecue fork to catch the edge and pull it down. I catch it midway against the cupboard.
Great idea! I bought one of those Grab It tools they sell on TV and it works great. I can get almost anything with it, from stuff on the top shelves to a tube of lip gloss that rolled behind the refrigerator!
You can also get the grabbit tool at hardware stores like Lowes. I have a shelf above my toilet and have found out the hard way that I should close the toilet seat BEFORE I try to reach something above it!
