You can transform simple ball stud earrings into original and beautiful stud earrings with a plastic bottle. It is not difficult at all and will cost you nothing at all.
Total Time: 25 Minutes
Yield: Stud earrings about 0.7" in diameter
Supplies:
- plastic bottle
- cardboard
- scissors
- ruler
- compass
- felt-tip pen
- iron
- pliers
- ball stud earrings
- transparent hot glue
Steps:
- Draw 3 circles of different diameters on the cardboard: 0.75", 0.55", 0.4". Cut out the circles (templates).
- Cut a piece of flat plastic from a plastic bottle.
- Trace around the templates and cut out two 0.75" circles, two 0.55" circles and two 0.4" circles.
- Turn on the iron to the highest setting. Using pliers, press the edges of the plastic circle onto the iron for a few seconds until the plastic curves. Do the same for all the plastic circles.
- Use an awl to make holes in the center of the curved circles.
- String three circles of different sizes on each ball stud earring: first the smallest circle, then the middle, then the largest. Fix the last circle in the back with a drop of hot glue.
