Is it OK to take your cat with you in the car on vacation?

Cats get car sick easier than dogs. So, I would take the cat in a carrier. Also, if loose, they tend to try and jump out of the car when you stop and they like to crawl under the seats or get by the drivers feet. So, when we have traveled the cats were always in a carrier. You also have to consider having the litter box with you, or else you need a harness for rest stops. If you are staying in a hotel, make sure they will allow cats. Some don't. Some do, but with a pet deposit.

I would avoid summertime. It gets hot in the car and most eating establishments wont allow the cat to come in.
