I have two kittens that are 6 to 9 days old. They have yellow discharge in their eyes which are constantly getting matted shut. One of them has a swollen left eye. I am not sure of the cause; we literally have to wipe it like 4 times a day. What can I do at home to get rid of it or at least make it to where it stops with getting matted shut?

This calls for a visit to the vet. Eye infections can be serious and cause blindness.
Cats are notorious for eye issues and it takes a vet to tell you if it is infection or allergies or illness. It is critical at such a very young age to get them checked ASAP. Prayers for all!!
Eye infections at this age can be very serious. Cats can go blind if they are not treated. Especially if you have one with a swollen eye. He needs to see a Vet right away. If you cant afford the Vet visit remember you can surrender the kittens to a No Kill shelter.
we had cats who had that. It was eye infections. They required a vet visit and some medicinal goop put in the eyes every day
as well, interesting enough, it was suggested we give them special medicinal cat treats containing Lysine. www.amazon.com/
the interesting part is that I know that Lysine is one of those supplements recommended for people who suffer from Herpes infections
so go figure
