Could I use Watkins salve to draw a thorn out of my dog's paw?

I don't know about Watkins but I believe it is about the same as the ichthammol ointment which I have used to draw thorns out of horses legs when imbedded. I would wrap it because which ever one u use. the dog will lick it right off if you don't and you probably will have to apply it often. When he chews off the wrap then reapply and re bandage it should only take a couple of days if the thorn is fresh and maybe only one if it is real fresh.

Could it be a fox tail? While thorns may back out? Fox tail only travels in. May need vet.
