Anything unusual with eyes should be reported to the vet.
It could be anything from an eye infection similar to pink eye to upper respiratory problems. I would take it to the vet just in case.
it is probably time for you to take your kitten to the vet for a check-up/shots/vaccinations and this would be a good time for them to see about the eye problem.
