Troubleshoot a Smith Corona sl470 Typewriter?

A Smith Corona typewriter in need of repair. If you press the z key you get some other letter or symbol instead. What can I do to correct this problem? I use it a lot and want to fix it so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

The strike keys may be bent. Try opening the top of the typewriter and straightening them.

They is no electrical in the typewriter when you plug it in.

I just received a Smith Corona model 5-A SL 460 typewriter, it arrived damaged. I watched a video before purchasing showing that it worked. When it arrived, the power button made a noise when it was either on or off!

Then it arrived with the half space bar off, I tried to put it back on and that is when I lost all power. Is this junk or can it be fixed at a reasonable price??
