This will sound odd, but I went to turn my ceiling fan on the chain bounced up and wrapped around the blade. I thought it blew out the breaker. I reset it, but now half the power is still out in my room. Half is obviously on one breaker and the other another. I even tried replacing the breaker. I guess you call it it's self, but it wasn't that. I hate for anyone to come to my house. I have medical conditions and unfortunately my house is just a mess. I'm embarrassed. I would like to fix it on my own, but don't think it's possible. Any help greatly appreciated.

I dont think the chain broke the breaker. I think you should swallow your pride and call someone qualified to fix it, especially something electrical that can cause a fire if not fixed correctly.
I agree with the other poster. Call someone to deal with this problem. I am sure that people like electricians and plumbers will have seen all sorts of homes, and yours is not likely going to faze them at all.
