When meat is too mainstream during meal time. Let's try a lighter version and improve our cooking skills using ingredients which are only available on the pantry. It's always our cravings that make me think of doing unusual recipes in my kitchen.
Ingredients:
- 60 gram can tuna flakes in oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 2 Tbsp minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp sliced button mushroom
- 1 Tbsp minced button mushroom
- 1 stalk green onion minced
- 1 Tbsp corn kernels
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 bouillon cube
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 3 Tbsp hot water
- Pinch of salt to taste
Steps:
- Combine flour, egg, tuna (including oil), minced mushroom, minced garlic and onion. Much better if you use bread crumbs instead of flour.
- Mix well until sticky texture is achieved. If mixture is too sticky add a little amount of water. If too runny add some flour.
- Scoop a spoonful of mixture and flatten in preheated oil in pan like burger patties. Fry until both sides are golden brown.
- Remove excess oil in pan. Combine bouillon cube, mushroom and corn. Stir well.
- Add cornstarch and hot water. Continue stirring.
- Now, add the milk, ground pepper and salt. Sprinkle with minced green onion and some salt to taste.
- Stir continuously until thick like gravy.
- Drizzle Alaking sauce on top of tuna patties.
