How do I turn it off for the season, or at least turn it down? I keep trying to set the temp to 50, but it's not cooperating.

Honestly, it should just be a simple matter of turning it OFF via a button
A lot of these products have a button that if you press it numerous times, it cycles through options such as heat, cool, auto, off. Simply go to OFF. Or else go to AUTO and set the high so high and the low so low that it is never engaged
if these options are not avaliable, then there is a defect in the unit
I'm not familiar with these heaters but when doing research there is a lot of conflicting information so you may just have to sort through the links to find someone that can help you program your heater.
Some sites say the company is out of business but I found several sites that are 'Hydro-Sil' and they are still operating so not sure what that is all about. It's possible Hydro-Sil has been purchased by another company but I believe you should try their contact site to see if they will help you.
